A reliable pattern is consistent, repeatable, and independent of mood or desire. An unreliable pattern shifts with emotion, expectation, or narrative.
Emotional contamination
Emotion can make false patterns feel true and true patterns feel irrelevant. Pattern literacy requires emotional neutrality.
